The performance was great and the amount of work that goes into the production inspiring.

Notes: Photos shot with the Fujifilm X-Pro1 with the XF60mm f/2.4 macro lens and the Fujifilm X100s. Nearly all of the shots were made wide open (2.4 for the 60mm and 2.0 for the X100s) at ISO 3200 or higher. The secret of using the XF60mm in low light is to manually focus. Worked brilliantly. I shot RAW to insure I have the largest dynamic range to with which to work. Photos processed in Lightroom 5 and VSCO Film 2.

  1. Superb series! Every single shot is stunning… Well done!

  2. Opera+photography=WOW

    • Thanks Charity. How nice to read a comment like that!

      • Don, this set of pictures is stunning. Opera singers do not always make the best expressions mid-song, but no one would know that looking at these shots. You’ve captured shock, love, and euphoria so well in just a few stills.

I’ve glanced over your other photos and I’m amazed at your work. You use texture, layers, black & white and color so beautifully.

I think you would make a great cinematographer.

      • Thanks again Charity. And thanks for taking the time to look at my work.

The performance was very fun to shoot and the performers were enjoying themselves. Something, that I believe comes across in the photos.
