Twilight portraits of an opera singer
This past December I had the pleasure of shooting a portrait session with the talented Amy Steggles of Fear No Opera. We shot as the sun was going down in front of the brightly-lit parliament buildings, with one off-camera flash acting as our “spotlight.” Amy was very accommodating, braving the cold temperatures for our 30 minute session.
As with any twilight session, there is a short period to shoot before the sky goes completely dark. As we lost the ambient light, the light from the speedlight became harder and more dramatic, much more like a spotlight. This was definitely my favourite light.
Many thanks, again, to Amy for the portrait session.
