Remembering a coastal moment

Without having risen with the song birds, nor having to wait 10 years to make the excursion, this past weekend we visited one of the many lighthouses on Vancouver Island.

Light reflected on the water, glass, white walls. The lighthouse rises from the rock, golden grass under foot. Fleeting moments remembered through a sound, a smell and an image, have already become a memory.

With all of the scene’s blues and greens, the image not quite sharp, I press the shutter. It is done. Finished. I lay down my camera and rest. “I have had my vision.”

Moments captured with the Fujifilm X30. With apologies to Virginia Woolf, thanks for the literary inspiration.
