Changes in light
The season is changing. The light is too.
During the past few weeks, I was presented with a few opportunities to photograph along my water edges, sometimes in total calm conditions (very STILL) and sometimes with lovely wind and waves (not so STILL). In all cases, the change in light is noticeable and welcome.
No matter the conditions, calm or windy, hanging out overlooking the water is great way to spend time. I always appreciate the stillness that this time produces for me.
I will be looking for more opportunities to take advantage of the change in light, before the days get too short. I hope that you will be too.
A note about this image: I have been visiting the area around Ogden Point every Friday for a while now. Each time the subject and the photos are different. In this case, the extremely calm conditions lent themselves to exposures of four minutes. While making these photos, I focused on the mark outside of the harbour. I particularly like the simplicity of the composition and colour palette. A couple of variations are presented below.
