Labour Day weekend aboard Unda
From dripping ice cream cones to the annual wooden boat festival on Labour Day weekend, Summer is coming to a close in Victoria. While I care little for ice cream, I really love the annual visit of the classic wooden yachts to the inner harbour. Gleaming bright work to rough-but-practical live aboards crowd the docks of the inner harbour for three days. Once again, our friends, Dee Dee and Dean, sailed here aboard their beautiful ketch, Unda. Once again, I had the pleasure of sailing on Unda during the parade of yachts. After the parade, Dean and I hoisted sail and spent two hours cruising the waters outside of Victoria, helm balanced as Unda made the most of the light breeze.
I’m sorry to see Fall settling in, but what a fantastic way to see out Summer. Until next year…
