Travels in Portugal and Montréal
At the beginning of the year, I informed my clients that I was retiring. Early in May, I shot my last paid gig and a week later, we left for a trip to Portugal.
We spent a total of 15 days in Porto, São Miguel (Açores) and Lisboa, before returning to Canada and five additional days in Montréal.
Below, you will find a selection of images captured while walking the streets of cities and the edges of the island. Apologies for the volume of images.
Thanks for reading and looking.

A note about this image: Before concluding our time in Montréal, we managed to see the exhibit of Richard Avedon photos, “Immortals,” at the Musée des Beaux-Arts. At the exhibit, as I came around a corner, I noticed this elderly gentleman looking at the work. It seemed like too good an opportunity to pass up and it is one of my favourite photos from the entire trip. Given that all of Avedon’s work was produced in black-and-white, I chose to also process the image that way.

NB: All photos captured with my Fujifilm X-T5, fronted with the Fujinon XF18mm f/2, XF35mm f/2 and XF50mm f/2 lenses. This proved to be a good combination for travelling, although I rarely used the 50mm lens and could have left it at home.

Very nice collection. And yes, I went through them all 😂
Ted, thanks for the heroic effort to look at all of the photos! 💪
I will admit to usually getting halfway through most long photo missives. So for what it’s worth…they were technical and visually enjoyable.
